First-Round All-State: Aug. 27

As everyone gets back in the rhythm of the school day, we hope everyone had a great end to the summer and an exciting start to the academic year. As we begin the school year, it's never too soon to start thinking about All State auditions - the first round registration deadline is quickly approaching on August 27, 2014 CHANGED: Friday September 5, 2014. Eligibility as quoted from the LMEA Handbook is as follows:

Students in grades nine through twelve whose directors are current members of LMEA are eligible to audition. A student auditioning for the All-State Bands, Orchestra or Jazz Ensemble must be a member of the school's instrumental music program. In a situation where there is no program in the school, the student must be certified by the eligible music teacher at the school or an LMEA-member private teacher. Home school students are not eligible for LMEA All State events.

We encourage all students to aspire to auditioning for honor bands and All-State in particular. See the Honor Bands section of the site or ask your band director if you have any other questions.

Welcome to the new website!

As we continue to build out the new website for the District, please feel free to contact me at cbautista@rummelraiders.com with any requests or issues you may have. Please pardon our progress as we work to migrate everything over to the new design that will hopefully facilitate improved efficiency and organization for all of our activities as a district.

The website is certaily a work in progress and much of what you see is subject to tweaking and improvement. It is designed to respond to the wide variety of devices we use to access the internet today and so if you have trouble on your device please let me know. All suggestions are greatly appreciated!

The DBDA is the New Orleans metropolitan area’s instrumental division of Louisiana Music Educators Association. It exists to encourage and support full-time music programs in the metro area and to organize their band directors and students.

All information about local honor bands, auditions, festivals, and competitions can be found here and we strive to keep the information always up-to-date.
